We are delighted to share news about the start of construction activities for our headquarters!

On March 13, 2023, Masaharu Tada, principal architect of td-Atelier, led a team of students from Kinki University's Kozue Sano Housing Planning Laboratory, alongside construction professionals from Shingu-based Nonaka Kōmuten, as they began renovating the akiya ("unoccupied house") that will become our HQ. The team meticulously removed about 2,365 unbroken roof tiles, and cleared obstructions around the old house.

Our representative director, Adam Lobel, and Dr. Kozue Sano of Kinki University's Department of Architecture were also present during the construction commencement. Consultations with Tada-sensei started in November 2022 when his team first visited Kumano Shindo. Last month, we unveiled the scale model of our HQ, which incorporates modern amenities into traditional Japanese design.

Masaharu Tada and his team bring years of expertise and experience to the project, and we are thrilled to have them on board. The construction commencement was a proud moment for our team as it is the cornerstone of our mission to establish a state-of-the-art, low-carbon, and nature-based creative expression laboratory in the heart of Kumano.
