Board Announcement

We are delighted to welcome Mitsuhiro “Mitsu” Iwata to the Board of Directors of Kumano Shindo General Incorporated Association. A seasoned social entrepreneur, Mitsu brings extensive expertise in building regional engagement and innovative use of emerging technologies such as Web3, VR, and the metaverse. From supporting local businesses and organizing inclusive events, to running career programs for persons with disabilities and young athletes in rural areas, Mitsu’s work spans sectors and generations. He has also led training programs for public institutions and corporations like NTT DOCOMO, helping them adapt to a fast-evolving digital landscape.

With this appointment, we take a significant step toward expanding our initiatives in Kumano and beyond. Mitsu joins Kumano Shindo not only as a board member but also as our Strategic Planning Coordinator, as we carry forward the regional revitalization projects previously led by Mirai Sousei Juku. We are excited to build on his vision and momentum.
